My father pulled my car to bits several months ago giving it a good go over. He did a great job, but the only thing wrong now is that the timing is out of sync. Its a 1984 Dahatsu Charade 5 door CX.
Ive tried everywhere to find the right timing but to no avail.

Telephone your local daihatsu garage and ask to speak to the service department. Ive never had any refusal when I have required answers to technical specifications. If they wont help telephone daihatsu UK - but get the spelling correct !
