Thinking of another YRV

Forum:

Hi Guys. After a year or more break i am thinking of going back to YRV again! some of you may remember my timing chain fiasco and wrecked engine story....anyway the wife is now settled with a nice new Chevy Spark and very happy with it she is too!! now looking for a second get to work and back car and have seen an 02 YRV with 65000 One owner miles and full dealer service history (something my first one lacked) for the sum of £1200 pounds (before haggling) what do you reckon should i go back and give YRV one more shot or settle for something boring like a micra or polo?

As Bob has said the choice is

As Bob has said the choice is yours on this. There are different types of YRV as you are aware. 4Trak, Premium, F-SPeed or even Turbo. Depends on the mileage and if there are traffic snarlups to and from work.

If the latter then have you considered either a F-SPeed or even the Turbo? Auto boxes with an option to use the steershift buttons to manually change gears. That was one of the reasons why I opted for the Turbo model, as it had all the boxes ticked for me, a bit of go (130BHP) on the road, with the added benefit of being something that can sit in traffic without making my left ankle ache Smile

The insurance on each model only differs slightly. For example a standard 1.3L manual car is group 6/7 where as the turbo is only group 8.

Also the other thing to think about, the weather, do you get bad ice/snow conditions in winter where you live? Then maybe the 4Trak is for you?

If going for a manual then models like the Radical and radical2 are ones to avoid as they have hardly any eqpuipment such as aircon Sad where as the premium has the panoramic roof (Same as the turbo), yet the the turbo has this but with front fog lights as well. Wink

Choice is yours.......
