Thermostat sealant necessary for Sportrak?

Forum:

I have recently received a new thermostat for my Sportrak (EFI engine, 1996). From what I have gathered, the Sportrak doesn't have a seperate gasket in the thermostat housing, is this correct? If so, does this mean I don't need to use a sealant? I can't find anything on using a sealant in the workshop manual. If still advisable, what do you guys use?

Thank you for your help

You should not need to use any sealant, but you can if you wish. Use a smearing of Hylomar or any similar brand of "Universal blue"
