Hey People.
Im at a loss to know where to go. I know nothing about cars generally so please forgive my ignorance. I have a Daihatsu Terios Sport, 2003 and have 2 problems: -
1. The rear washer jet is not working. I have tried a pin to clear it out but no joy. I disconnected the tube that leads to the rear washer from the resevoir in the engine and activated the pump using the switch on the dash - it worked fine. That must mean I have a blockage or kink in the tube right? I dont know the route it takes to get to the rear jet except that looking at the car from the front, the resevoir is on the right but the tube enters the back door from the left so it must cross over the car. Does anybody know how i can go about locating the route the tube takes or how to clear the stoppage?
2. The switch on the dash which controls the fan (settings are off, 1, 2,3) has broken off. the only way I can change the blower is using thin nosed pliers which of course is not practical when driving. I have been searching for hours on the net trying to find a replacement part to no avail. Can anybody tell me the part number, part name or contact details of someone that can help me locate this? I have searched under air con switch but realising that it controls the heat as well i think it may be the heater control panel. When and If I find one i have the rigmarole of trying to fit it but I'll worry about that if i strike gold!

For the 1st point;
If its like the Daihatsu YRV then the tube will run underneath the door into e boot etc.. You need to prize off the plastic door kick plates to access to follow it. Should be easy enough. Could be as simple as the tube has come off at the sprayer end.
For point 2. A quick search on eBay has come up with this part;

Not sure if it's the same one you have. But as I have noticed the terios shares parts from other Daihatsu models. For example the newer 2006 onwards model (mark 3 ?) has the same centre console as a Daihatsu Materia. Yours might share the same as a Daihatsu mark 1 sirion car.

Point 1. I was able to trace the route of the tube for the rear jet by starting with your kick space advice. In case anyone else has the same issue and comes on here - the method is as follows:
Terios 2003 Sport
From Engine, tube runs down passenger side to the rear seats. Here there is a non return valve. Seperate the tube and make sure that water is coming thru to this point. Reconnect and follow the tube where it then crosses the car to the other side. Oppostite side by rear seats there is another one way valve. Seperate tube and ensure water comes thru. For me, a load of sludge cleared out. Tube then runs to back door. Remove panel on back door. There are two valves here. Seperate tube on both and test water comes thru. Once of my valves was very dirty along with sludge in tube. By seperating and pushin water I was able to pressure thru a path. All is fixed now.

Re. Point 2. I have found I hope the part from a breakers yard I found online. Hopefully they will deliver what they pledged. They were very helpful so I have every faith.!!
