Hello and first post - www.carkeyhelp.co.uk.... any good?

Forum:

Hello,
This is my fist post on here and also new proud owner of a Materia!

Just had the car for a week but unfortunately it only came with one key and one remote. The key cutters in town will cut a new one (with transponder) for 80 quid give or take a few pence but this site http://www.carkeyhelp.co.uk/ will do one for £18.50 + del....

Seems too good to be true!

has anyone used carkeyhelp and if so what kind of experience did you have?

any help will be appreciated

John

Same. I have ordered one for my Cuore, using a photo of my original key.

Had email to say dispatched, along with the key cutting code for future.

Mine arrived today, works

Mine arrived today, works perfect in all the locks!

Amazing considering I only sent a photo image of the original.

Will not start the car as it is not programmed (yet) for the immobilsier, But useful to keep safe incase I lock the original key inside the car.

order status - Awaiting Fulfillment.

all I need to do next is find a remote thats not going to cost £200+ that my local dealer wants for one!
Any one know if you can get the remotes for a sensible price? Should be easy enough to program it.

Check on Ebay for a remote. I

Check on Ebay for a remote. I picked one up a year ago for £45, what I didn't know was that one of the trusted members on here I know had sold it to a newbie member for his so called keeper YRV F-Speed which was sold soon after without this second fob Sad for £20 Sad The YRV/Sirion can be programmed for up to 2 remote key fobs. It's an easy enough job to do if memory serves, as I ended up doing it myself Smile Now have 2 fobs, one I use everyday and spare just in-case Wink

Editted to say there is one on ebay now with a starting bid price of 99p!

Thanks for the information!

Thanks for the information! thats very handy.

I had looked on ebay so not sure how I missed it! My Googling powers are very low at the moment!

I had wondered if Daihatsu used the same remote as some of the Toyota models maybe? might be a little easier to get hold of a Toyota remote that will work as well and cheaper.

No worries. Just searched on

No worries. Just searched on daihatsu remote on ebay to find it. Not much comes back for Materia so you have to widen it a bit Smile

Not sure if a Toyota remote will be compatible, as Daihatsu may use a different locking system. it could be different for the Materia as by the time these were manaufactured I think Toyota had a bigger stake/takeover on Daihatsu, so maybe more Toyota Parts were crossed used on the models by then. The Materia was/is the model that superceded the YRV model.

Technically Yes for anything

Technically Yes for anything like the older models like the YRV, Sirion and Terios. But I am not sure for the Materia, so if you can pick up a cheap remote off ebay its worth a punt. If it doesnt you could always advertise it for sale again as I will be in no doubt that someone on here would buy it from you as a replacement or as a spare for an older model Smile

Edited to add this link that tells you how to reprogramme on sirion and YRV provided by YRVTony:

ah! when did you order yours

ah! when did you order yours as my ones not turned up yet and not even showing that its even been dispatched

well, the key turned up in

well, the key turned up in the post today and it works perfectly!

as pocketrocket said amazing it was cut from a digital photo of the key (I took the photo with my phone!)

inc the delivery £20.35 - the blade part is cut and there's a transponder (well I hope so) in the fob part.... but its not programmed to the car yet.

So if any one knows how I can do it myself I would be most grateful to find out or I'll take a trip into town to the key cutters there and see if they will program it for me.

so I can recommend www.carkeyhelp.co.uk

Timpsons supply and programme

Timpsons supply and programme the key, Special offer at moment, half price £25 including key cutting.

They will not programme a key you take to them that has been bought elsewhere.

Got mine today, walked in to my local Sainsburys which aslo have a Timpsons, and was walking out within 5 mins and tested all car doors and it starts the car!

The machine they use just reads your original key and find the code, in seconds.

At that price it makes the other service somewhat expensive!
