Sirion staling when idle

Forum:

Hi!
I have posted this before, but will try again. My girlfriends Sirion M1, 4WD EJ-DE is having some issues with ideeling. It's not consistance, but seems to be worse when it's mild and wet outside. For Instance if she stops at a red light the car will die. It will start right up again when she turns the key and run 100% when in motion.
I have changed the Lambda o2 sensor without any luck.
I am thinking that it could be MAF or MAP related. So.....Does the sirion run MAF or MAP? If so, where is it located?
I have had the car to a garage to get the faultcodes out, but all i got was:
- 31 Pressure Sensor
- 81 Immobilicer System.

MAP on a K3 engine

All the engines in the K3 engine range have a MAP sensor.
Have you checked the Idle control valve which is connected to the throttle assembly as well?

Worth getting yourself a manual for your car and engine. PM BobF for details Wink

Thanks. I have got the manual

Thanks. I have got the manual from Bob Smile I have now located the map. It's also located on the throttle assembly.
The Idle Control Valve I can't find in the manual. Are you refering to the Linear Throttle sensor? I guess not.......... Blum 3

Idle air control valve, Black

Idle air control valve, Black plastic valve on the throttle body, with torx style screws. Near the coolant in/out pipes

Wont be MAP, car will not run

I don't think it can be MAP, car will run badly not just at idle. and it causes check engine light.

Ok. So it can't cause theses

Ok. So it can't cause these symptomes? I got the errorcode 31 Pressure Sensor.....I'm thinking that has to be the MAP?

Thanks. Will see if I can

Thanks. Will see if I can find something Smile Does anyone have partnumbers for the map and the Idle air valve?
