Difference between CB22 and CB23 Engine?

Forum:

The handbook for my Daihatsu SAPHIR (locally called a SKYWING. Its a Volvo 340-shaped hatchback apparently mechanically identical to a 3-cyl na CHARADE) is in Chinese, but some of it is readable, and one of the tables says its got a CB22 engine.

I don't know if this is true for my particular car. I've been using a PDF of a Daihatsu manual for the CB23 engine, and so far havn't found any differences.

How would I tell the difference between these two engines, and are there any spec differences that are likely to cause trouble/damage if in fact its got a CB22 engine and I continue to use the CB23 manual?

Very much doubt it, Quite

Very much doubt it, Quite often the older Daihatsu engines have different numbers when installed in a different body or for a different selling markets.

Another example is the old charade turbo , CB60 when in the old G11 body or CB61 in the G100 shell, but no engine differences can be found.

Charade Turbo diesel engine known as the CL50(T) in Japan, And CL60 europe.

And the Charade GTti/GTxx, Engine code CB70 for Japan and asia markets, or CB80 for europe. No internal differences...we have even checked camshaft profiles incase they were slightly different! but no.
