Fourtrack tyres

Forum:

I have a 1994 Fourtrack independent TDX which currently have 255 /70/15 R tyres on however they need replacing have seen a set of BF Goodrich mud terrain tyres at 235/75/r15 which I may purchase . Will the difference in size make much difference to the off road performance Unknw Any views on the BF' mud terrains I do intend to use the Fourtrack off road as much as possible

there pretty similar in size,

there pretty similar in size, obviously 255 is a tad wider, I love the bf goodrich at pattern, very hard to beat in the at range, however for mud id go a bit more extreme than mt type.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Rolling radius within 1%

I used a lookup from one of the tyre suppliers to calculate the rolling radius of BFG AT2s in that size.

Supposedly, if a 255/70/15 is doing 70mph at a certain engine revs, the 235/75/15 will be doing 69.5 mph at the same revs.

This time last year, tyre suppliers were telling me that the Euro-creeps have banned the manufacture (but not the sale of old stock) of AT2s because they are too noisy.

I have these on a spare set of rims and swap them for ordinary tyres for general use.

In Norfolk, we've had -13 degrees C with the roads compacted down to ice, even on salted roads at times. The AT2s have certainly seen plenty of use shifting stuck vehicles on some of the small lanes round here.

Euro-Creeps

Have revelled in my AT2s on my now expired Sporty for many years.
The 255/70 is freely available in the US.
Will the 235/70 serve?
I am a beekeeper and the lovely wide tyres on these vehicles are excellent for not pissing off orchard owners.
Anyone tried the new ATs.
