Anybody got any suggestions about the following.
My 99 1.3Hijet runs like a dream but I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that very occasionally when turning the ignition key the starter motor seems to lock for a second, is there any preventitive maintainance that I can do to prevent it from packing up.

Lock engaged on the flywheel or solenoid not popping out??
Either way i'd take it off and depending on how good you are stripping and replacing bits either overhaul it and maybe replace solenoid contacts or get a used/reconned unit or give it the pro's to do (around £30-50??)

Hijet starter
Hi Mike,
If your in need of a decent starter, I bought a 1.3 T reg van which I bought to steal parts off for my project hijet and daily runner, but on the van it came with a reconditioned starter motor that had been fitted just a few months previous to me buying it. It looks like a fresh recon unit.
