Just bought a Sirion 4trak

Forum:

Hi

New to the forum, and having just bought a Sirion 4Trak just wanted to get a bit of advise!

Loving the car already, hoot to drive, we really wanted a Rally 4 but couldn't find one at the time.

Couple of things:

Nipping the car back to the garage we bought it from, with a squealing serpentine belt, is this a common problem on them? Is it the tensioner or the belt?

Is it easy to locate a short shift, as fitted to the Rally 4? Does it make a big difference.

Anything we should keep an eye on? Its done 58k, full service history and two lady owners. The last one swapped it for a newer Sirion.

It appears to be missing its boot badges, can they still be bought from anywhere? Do the old dealers still stock stuff like that?

Already finding the forum interesting and useful! Just gutted we hadn't seen Bob F's Rally 4 for sale before we bought this! Oh well!

Welcome Newbie!Shame you

Welcome Newbie!

Shame you hadnt spotted Bob F's Sirion Rally IV for sale, as he has done absolutly everything on that car, and would have meant trouble free driving.

As for the squealling, it may mean a new serpentine belt, as we owners have found out there are various sizes of belts for our cars and it may mean the belt is too loose.

As for badges, look no further than Ebay!

Plenty to be had for good prices.

Hopefully Bob will be along to advise further for you Smile

The shame...

Yes ... would have loved it, but we have the Sillyone now and hopefully will sort everything. The garage are swapping the belt as we speak! Will try and persuade the other half to buy the Rally 4!
