Double DIN Head Unit in Sirion

Forum:

Has anyone fitted a double DIN head unit in the Sirion? Look like it would fit! Was looking at fitting a newer head unit for iPhone connection and possibly DAB. ANy thoughts foks?

Can't see why you couldn't do

Can't see why you couldn't do that. Question would be is how much of a distraction would this unit be when driving? I found it a bit distracting using my fold out Screen kenwood system and now a days don't bother using the screen any more and keep it inside of the head unit.

Thanks

After a better neater head unit really, with bluetooth for phone and DAB more than anything The standard one is fiddly to operate and looks a bugger lol

The only problem with screen

The only problem with screen type stereo units is there touch screen functionality. More than none if you need to say up the loudness of the volume or change radio station then it can be a distraction whilst driving, as you have no actual feel to where the button is. Just my thoughts on the subject.
If you need the DAB and Bluetooth functionality then there are plenty of single head unit alternatives on the market where you can feel the controls rather than use a touch screen device.
Either way your choice. All I can say is if you are a gadget person like me then the screen idea sounds tempting, as I got one for watching DVDs whilst parked up at work and having my lunch or even have a TV tuner to watch television and even added a NAvigation unit to the device.
If unlike me you only want the radio for the 2 things you have said I tink a touch screen would be a waste of money. Your choice obviously. Smile

I have a Sony double Din unit

I have a Sony double Din unit in my YRV but have new Clarion single Din with motorized screen to fit soon Smile
Think depending which year Sirion you have, straight in after compartment removal for the earlier models and dash adapters for the newer models due to it being built in and its curvature.

Thanks all

Hi yeah, thought it looked ok. Just want a tidier unit with Bluetooth and dab. Don't really want touch screen. Just think if I can get it flush it will look neater than the pop off front clarion that's in and you can't find the on button for in the dark!

When I bought my YRV Turbo,

When I bought my YRV Turbo, the first thing that played up and died on the car was the clarion stereo. Unfortunately I had an original music CD in which would then not eject anymore Sad All I will say is that the Clarions you get with the YRV are very cheap and terrible.
