RAC "Daihatsu assistance".

Forum:

HI there,

I got a question - I got my Daihatsu new, and I received with it a card for Daihatsu Assistance (or something, I got it in my car). It's not a normal RAC card, but it's Daihatsu livery with small RAC.

I used it once when my tires were slashed, RAC came to my home, fixed them temporarly, assisted me when driving to a tire place of my choice and then drove me back home.

I am now likely to travel abroad a bit in the next year and since it's valid for the full warranty period, I still have 18 months of it, so I wonder what's covered?

The leaflet that came with it is crap, just few round words. I remember when I called Daihatsu when I bought it, and I was told "we at Daihatsu do whatever possible to provide best assistance possible, blah blah blah" but not particulars either...

But somehow I doubt I would be covered in Europe (or, keep your fingers crossed, if I manage to do well and will have to move temporarly to Norway), but... It never harms to ask.

So, does anyone has any idea about it?

Haven't had a new Daihatsu.

Haven't had a new Daihatsu. But have had a near new Subaru and know that the Subaru network give you free breakdown assist only in the UK, for the first 3 years of warranty on their cars.
As Daihatsu, Subaru, Isuzu and Mitsubishi, were/are goverened by a company called IM (International Motors), then would have thought to be all the same. Cannot see any motoring manufacture providing European wide cover to UK sold cars to be honest. But you never know.

I haven't had the Daihatsu

I haven't had the Daihatsu version of the card, though have had the Mitsubishi version which does cover when travelling in Europe. Though it did mention on the card itself in large letters about it covering Europe. If you've not done so already, on the card see if it mentions anything about European cover or if it provides an International number, as if covers Europe would expect them to provide a number to call when not in the UK as 0845 numbers tend not to work outside of the UK even with the internationally dialling code.

Looks like car manufacturers

Looks like car manufacturers have changed their policies. Which is good Smile
