More expense!

Forum:

Back from another trip to the dealers. MOT and malfunction light sorting. Turns out it was a ne lambda sensor needed. Total cost: £194!!! Cant help thinking that theres a link between the sensor failing and me filling the car with Tesco petrol. (I was after more horse power...!!)

Nope the O2/Lambda sensors

Nope the O2/Lambda sensors have been identified on here as something owners are now coming to grips with.
There are 2 lambda sensors on the 1.3 litre k3-VE engine. One in the engine bay before the manifold and 1 on the exhaust just past the manifold known as bank 1 and bank 2 sensors. Now if you plugged in a cheap OBD-II sensor this would have told you the code that triggered the engine management light, and the you could have got yourself the O2 sensors at half the price Smile Live and learn Wink
Personally I would definitely recommend something like a Scangauge-II as this acts as a way of checking what going on better. For around £100 it pays for itself.

You may actually have a valid point, Tesco 99 momentum contains Bioethanol, A effective and cheap/easy way to bump up the octane those extra few points fromt the normal 95 unleaded.

Quite a few uses on other car forums report occasional slight misfires when using it, And I have done in the Cuore. Goes well but just sometimes it seems to stutter.

Shell V-Power does not contain it, And is the same 99RON rating

Thanks..

For all the advice. Much appreciated and a very interesting read. Especially as all the tech stuff I thought was only available to dealers seems available to the man in the street also!
