YRV - New look

Forum:

I think I mentioned a while ago that I was setting up my own wrapping business. We'll I've taken the plunge and started trading at the start of April.

I've been using the YRV as an experiment/practice/work horse. You'll remember the state the car was in when I got it. Dents, rust, scrapes and so on. Well it looks somewhat different now.

The back half of the car is how I would have it if I wasnt advertising. It's wrapped in Matte deep blue, carbon boot lid, gloss black lower bumper and a silly stickerbomb thing on there just for good measure.

The front isn't complete yet (working 2 jobs and having a pregnant missis slows things down) Again Carbon bonnet, but the rest is wrapped with "Sanding Matte Purple" It looks like suede in the shade, and shines brite like Rhianna's teeth when the sun hits it.

Boy do I get some looks driving around in it now. I'm just waiting for sign writing to arrive, and that should be on by the weekend. Anyway heres a few thumbs to some pics

Looks a bit odd.......

But if you are advertising what you do, then I suppose it has to be Wink

Just read up about your 2 jobs and expecting a child, so will let you off with not knowing how you got on with the internal door handles done properly Smile

Sorry about that. I've got

Sorry about that. I've got some decent chrome wrap, but because of the textured plastic it shows through giving an orange peel look on the chrome. If the handle can be removed from the back plate, then the back could be wrapped in the same carbon fiber as you've got, it would need to be done in 2 pieces, as it wont stretch enough to do it whole.

And yes the car looks odd. lol. The matte blue looks nice, and the gloss black on the lower bumper i really like. The sign writing should be here in the morning, so the oddness will come together a little I hope.

Looks good.

I have actually taken the door handle apart. There is a knack to doing it, involving a small cylindrical object and a a hammer to knock through the hinge holding the handle and locking mechanism. Smile
The hard part is putting it back together with getting the spring back into place Sad

Will be in touch on PM about this with you. Not sure if the stuff I have will stick to the plastic as I remember tried it myself, but not very good and patient with this sort of work Sad as the plastic has a bobble effect? which is a knight mare. Obviously you know a way around this Wink

You could spray with plastics

You could spray with plastics primer then fine wet and dry it smooth...the wrap should still stick Smile
