Forum:
Hi
Just acquired a basically nice 2001 Terios SL and need to replace the belt set - K3 VE engine - as a mainly precautionary measure, can anyone recommend a source for these, or give me any relevant details so that I can find suitable alternatives?
All help much appreciated.
Belt Set?
The only belt you need for the K3-VE engine is the serpentine belt for the alternator, Water Pump and Starter motor, power steering..etc.
The engine has a timing chain as standard. The timing chain should be good, I.e no rattles.
For the serpentine belt you can easily get these from any motor factors, Ebay or Dealership. The only issue is the sizing. As all members on here will vouch for.
The number for the belt should still be visible on the current one.

Serpentine belt replacement
Thanks for the replies - any advice on replacing the serpentine belt?

belt saga continues..
I agree - lots of room and I can actually see what I am fitting a spanner to and can get a lever on the tensioner!!
I have a two belt setup - serpentine belt for, I think, alternator, water pump, crankshaft and air con - plus tensioner and idler pulleys and a second pulley on the water pump with a belt that drives the PS pump. The small belt is no problem, currently has a mitsubishi part number, the serpentine is a bit more of a problem in that I can't see any part number - either because it has worn off or because it is hidden and won't be revealed until I can take it off later in the week - any ideas here appreciated.
