Forum:
Hi there,
I am restoring and maintaining this 1986 Rocky, imported from Oman. It is in nice condition and working pretty well, with quite a lot of good help and advice from members of this forum.
There is fuel leaking out of the charcoal canister, a build-up of pressure in the fuel tank and loss of power when warmed up, all of which point to a need to replace the canister.
Could anyone help me to find a replacement? Of course, the ideal would be a new part:
77740-87604
138600-4080
Nippondenso
But that seems a very unlikely find, having done some searching so any thoughts on alternatives or workarounds would be very much appreciated.
For now, my workaround is to loosen the petrol filler cap which prevents the pressure buildup and it seems, all of the symptoms.
I read this great article by an American on cleaning and servicing these parts including a suggestion by another participant that you could re-charge them with "activated charcoal" from an aquarium shop:

I include also (if it will work) a photo of the part ... Thank you for reading
