European headlight stickers

Forum:

I am driving around Europe in my Sportrak starting tomorrow. All ready to go but I have no idea where to stick the headlight conversion stickers. Doesn't seem very obvious.

If there is anyone on here that has done this before and can give me some advice that would be great.

A simple way of doing it is to put a sticker/insulating tape across as if it was between 7 O'clock and 9 O'clock. I always do this and it's fine - it cuts out that bit that would light up the hedge on the left hand side here in the UK, but would dazzle oncoming traffic on the continent.
Hope that helps, have a good trip!

I take it its the same on both lights? I actually would have assumed that it was between 3 and 5 o'clock that you cover as that's the side I'd assume shines into the hedge etc in this country.

Oh well they are on anyway.

The reflector sends the beam

The reflector sends the beam to the opposite side and upside down to what you're seeing on the glass, so don't worry, 7-9 is OK, I've been doing it for 25 years now.
Yes, it's both lights, and if you look at older style headlights that have the moulded glass to direct the beam instead of moulded reflectors, you can even see the lines from 7-9 where you need to cover.
Safe journey.
