Hi Jet radiator filler cap needed

Hi. I need a new Rad filler cap for my 1997 1.0 ltr Hi jet 6 seat's van. I rang local Daihatsu dealer and they say it has to be ordered from Japan. Apart from breakers yard, anyone know where I can get one from please

Hi, which do you need:-

The one on the radiator itself

or

The one under the passenger seat

I can supply the ones under the passenger seat, but the ones on the radiator are slightly different, although many people put the same cap on both. I have a couple of new ones in the box, then a couple of second hand ones. They are not the original Daihatsu ones, but after buying a few different makes of cap I have found a pretty decent part from one of the aftermarket suppliers.

The one on the radiator is a pressure release cap - 0.9 bar if I remember correctly.

While the one on the radiator has no pressure mechanism.

I personally feel there is no issue with putting a standard pressure cap on the radiator as the radiator neck has no blow off pipe, so it will make no difference.

Hi thanks for reply. It the rad filler cap. They have to order from Japan. I will try a new one with spring on I can get one for £3 but thanks for your offer. Cheers Derek

Make sure the cap is a decent

Make sure the cap is a decent one, I've messed around with thin ones off ebay and from the motorfactors and they don't work very well.

Best ones are Firstline Part Number FRC74 - you can get them from Unipart motor factors.
