Rear trailing arm snapped, buy new or weld? :-•

Forum:

Hi, any help or advice welcome please.
Travelling on a back I road and didn't slow down when I pulled over, well why would I? I'm in a 4x4 (fool). Anyway got to the stables to pick up my daughter and looked back to see something hanging down from the rear wheel, seems I've snapped my rear trailing arm (sits at the bottom of the spring and pivots at the other end, roughly 1'8" long). I don't mind buying new as long as its a reasonable price, however I have a mate who builds trailers for a living and could weld it for me.
So buy new or get repaired?

Thanks for that, I guess I
