new here and about to buy a fourtrak

Forum:

Hi everyone, im about to buy a 4x4 and am torn between fourtrak and shogun.
Ive seen a fourtrak I really like but am not sure what exactly I need to look for.
DO know that I need to look for rust on sills but that's it.
I was looking at the independent or riviera.i will be using it to tow a horsebox.
Thank you !

Probably better with the Shogun, Fourtrak's are fine if a little noisy, but they have been out of production for a while now.

Shogun 3.2 DiD is very comfortable, tows impeccably, and being a heavier vehicle means they are much more stable. Mine has pulled everything from 8 tonne tractors uphill, combine harvesters stuck in fields, and even a lorry out of lane two on the motorway.

With the auto transmission you have the option of automatic or tiptronic manual, and the ability to use 4 wheel drive high on the road as it has a centre differential with power transfer to whichever axle needs it, this makes them especially stable when using engine braking as it spreads the engine braking load over all four wheels instead of just the rears.
