Forum:
Hi,
I've my 1985 Charade G11 has a leaking water inlet pipe. I've contacted Daihatsu and parts dealers but nobody seems to be able to help. So as far as I can see I have 4 options:
- Weld. This may pose problems as it's apparently an aluminium pipe.
- Get one from another model. Problem is I don't know what models to look for. Perhaps the G100, but that may be pretty rare here also.
- Create one or improvise something that looks like it. It's a pretty simple pipe after all, but I don't have the experience.
- An engine swap, but that's gonna be costly and I'm not sure if I can get my hands on a block that would fit right in.
Can anyone give me some guidance with this issue? I'd hate to bring this nice car to its grave over such a (seemlingly) minor issue.
The pipe can be found in this PDF under the heading "DHP-002": http://www.taiwantrade.com.tw/resources/member/279/productcatalog/c8e3700e-7b06-4742-8936-a7eb0039c9f8_AntungWaterInletOutlet2011.pdf
Thanks!
