Hi all, I just bought MY FIRST CAR, a 1990 Daihatsu Charade, 1.3, AUTOMATIC. It has been driving fine since I got it 3 weeks ago apart from a very rattly exhaust. The rattle seems to be coming from under the middle off the car and I can only hear it when parking or doing manouveres, it especially seems bad when I'm reversing. I have tried 'wiggling' the end of the exhaust but it doesn't seem to move at all. My next problem is that for the past 3 days when I'm parking or doing 3 point turns and definately when I'm reversing it keeps stalling. I start again and as soon as I go to put it in reverse or drive it cuts out again before I get a chance to move. If I pull the choke out it seems to be ok but it happens when the car is 'warm'. I've also noticed over the past couple of weeks that when I start the engine (with choke out) I have to rev it or it cuts out, I didn't need to do this the first week I had it!
As I said at the beginning this is my first car, I am a woman & I don't have a clue! It passed it's MOT last month (before I got it) with only needing new brake shoes. Any ideas as to what is wrong please?
