Gfb turbo fuse controlling boost , wa is your views

Forum:

Hi guys , as you know I got a blitz exhaust , K&n filter and full throttle I get overboost going up to the fuel cut , it goes up to 0.8 and with a bit of control of the accelerator pedal it goes well, but when your mind is on he road , dreaded fuel cut I don't want to increase boost any views on this fuse ,

For what I understand it let's the bov open
Think if I set it to 0.8 will stop fuel cut and over boost ,

If there is a topic already done please slap me lol

First thing owners noticed when changing the exhaust on the YRV Turbo is the fuel cut happening. Did get around this with a fuel cut defender which Pocketrocket sells. The car will then over boost upto 1.1 bar. I know I have done this on occasion, especially when overtaking a car, and you hit the dreaded hitting the brick wall feeling as the car can over boost. But it depends on the outside temperature and how much heat soak the intercooler has developed.

I don't want to increase boost ?

I don't want the boost to increase . I want to drop it back down to stock levels. When I fitted my k &n I had this overboost problem . And I understand the waste gate is to small . It full open on full throttle to much air in and now to much out . But if I can release the excess pressure with this gfb fuse. I know my turbo will be over worked but the engine won't .

If I must fit a fcd I may aswell invest in a controller remap or if need must . Weld a bigger external waste gate to stop the excess boost.

Any advise on what you guys are running with mods like mine like fcd boost pressures an you ways to keep an eye on the pressure to stop extreme overboost e.g if your vacuum came of the actuator . You engine boost to melting point in seconds . Maybe a electronic gauge that will light up red wen overboost is detected .
Thanks guys .

gauge

Found a gauge that will light up red when I reach 1.5 bar , I would think running 1.5 is way to high,
