Hi all, locked the hubs earlier to go off road and when I was finished I couldn't put the passenger side into the free position? Any advise what this could be? And will it damage the hub if I left it in lock? Thanks

Yes it will damage it if driven on road.
Reverse the vehicle back a couple of metres, this usually disconnects them.
Maintain them properly, easy to do, yet most people fail to do it and when maintained they have no problems, have auto hubs on my 1979 F20 and they are original and no problems at all with them.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that they are manual locking hubs so Would reversing still be helpful?

If they are manual hubs then they should disconnect when you twist the toggle, if not they have a defect.
