Hi, Ive a prob with an old sportrak STi at work, it starts fine and runs its usual high idle till the temp gets up, it revs fine if you try it.Once the idle settles to normal ,which means the temp sensor is working, it appears to suffer from fuel starvation as it won't pick up properly, cuts out sometimes, it might run properly under load for 10/15 secs then play up, it does this intermittently. The EMS light goes out so I think all the sensors are working.Have had a look in what I thought was the throttle position sensor on the throttle body but it appears to be just a switch set,one set of contacts closed at idle which opens when the throttle is moved till you get near full thottle when the it contacts the other side. I was expecting to find a potentiometer in there!
Any suggestions or clues more than welcome.
Could be air starved.
Change the air filter. The old might look clean but could the micro holes be clogged.
Try running without the filter to discover if there is indeed any improvement. Then replace the filter.

hi im having the same problem with mine too did u ever figure out what the prob was.? sounds exactally like mine is mine runs fine from cold with the choke on but once the choke goes off mine runs like crap will rev up in when out of gear if u take it easy but in gear its undriveable it just coughs and farts but still idles fine. any help would be great I dont want to scrap the old tub just yet
