My boyfriend has a daihatsu applause a101 which has a manual antenna on the roof, the applause had an accessory option called the sport pack which included an electric antenna, i thought I'd surprise my boyfriend by getting him the electric antenna for his car, but I've been told by a toyota dealer that deals with daihatsu parts (I'm in Australia) that an electric antenna won't fit as there isn't room in the front pillar for the motor, which doesn't seem right as why would daihatsu have offered an accessory option for a vehicle if it won't fit?!

Are there any daihatsu owners in here that have upgraded a vehicle with manual antenna to the electric type that can help me?
