Hi I'm having trouble starting my fourtrak.
Everytime I turn the key I get a strange clicking noise coming from what I believe is the rectifier. Not to sure though it is placed just behind the battery. This seems to be stopping the vehicle from starting. Any ideas??
That's the glow plug relay,
That's the glow plug relay, it may be faulty but I also hear that it works on resistance and may turn off too soon if a glow plug has failed. You can measure each glow plugs resistance to find the faulty one, should be around 0.45 ohm but the easiest way to do that is in situ, use a multimeter set to volts and measure between top and cylinder earth, you'd expect around .75 volts whilst the relay is providing power.
