Brake cylinder repair kits

Yes, you remember them, they were a little box containing all the rubber seals and a tube of pink grease which you used to replace the rubber bits in a brake wheel cylinder. Used to cost about £3 for an axle.

BUT NOW you can't get them, so, instead, you have to fork out £40 for a brand new wheel cylinder !!!

Even more annoying was having to fork out £80 for a Fiesta brake master cylinder which is purposely designed so you can't get it apart (a hidden internal circlip springs out when Mr Ford stuffs the guts into the cast housing).

GRRRRR

PS .... don't get me started on how cheap it was to replace the brushes in a Lucas dynamo (50p and that was it good for another 60 000 miles.)

I remember those days; you could go to the pictures (AKA fleapit) it had one screen and a different film every month, get a fish supper for yourself and er' indoors including pickled eggs, six pints of mild and bitter, the bus ride to and fro and still get change from a tanner.... I said tanner, not tenner !!!
