I am going to do a shackle lift on my leafsprung LWD fourtrak. I have found a place that will fashion me some new shackles. Does anybody know how much longer i should make the new shackles. What is the limmit i can go to. If i want to lift say 3" will i increase the shackle length by exactly 3"???

If you are going to lift by 3 inches then I would have thought that height would have consequences for the shocks and steering gear..could be wrong here ..never done it on a 4track myself..but I am sure someone who has will highlight any potential hazards.

Hi, I have raised mine 4" with diy shackles, and the only mod I have had to make is fitting longer dampers. I used two sets of rear dampers off a vauxhall carlton which have more than enough travel, and fitted them front and back. Steering should be fine though, no complaints here.

Dude, go to gone2far.co.uk and copy their revolver shackles, they are awesome and give articulation like you would not believe.
