Head Gasket

My head gasket went a couple of months ago. I got a local mechanic to fit it.

He said that changing the gasket was straight-forward enough, but the problem with mine was that the head was corroded and needed welding.

I can e-mail you the relevant section from the Daihatsu workshop manual which the dealers use if you want it.

No water 'head gasket'

Hi - - how did the water disapear? - - steam or anything? What was temperature gauge reading in the cab? How did the sporty stop? what makes him think its head gasket??

Head gasket is a peice of cak

Head gasket is a peice of cake to do. All you need is the torque settings, and a new set of head bolts (other than the gasket set lol). Hes probably just saying that to bump the price up!!
