Hi Guys,

I am having a problem with my Daihatsu Applause 1991 when I have a cold engine. It seems that when starting the engine in the morning, it kicks off straight away but engine Fast idle speed does not increase on starting the engine. In fact when I try to lightly rev the engine it just lowers the revolution. On second slight engine reving, the engine revs and after which idle speed increases slowly to the normal fast idle of 1500rpm. Note that the engine is equipped with carburettor with automatic choke.

Until the engine heats up on abrupt acceleration the engine like leaks the power and re bulids up instantly.

I have cleaned carb but idle speed when engine is cold is not so clear. I mean when focusing on rpm meter needle it slightly deflects and engine sound is not so clear and smooth.

Could anyone help on this...
