Alternator Charge Light

Hi first post on the forum but have been reading for months, can anybody help?

I`ve just installed a twin charge relay in my 1998 Hijet 1300 EFI (I am self employed & use a battery to power an inverter for small tools etc). Does anyone know if there is a feed that is only live when the engine is running OTHER than the charge lamp output from the alternator, the dashboard light is remaining on because it is `seeing` the relay as resistance and not going out. I have read that Japanese alternators are known for this, if there is no other feed is there any other way to get the light to go out by electronics etc. Thanks in advance Smile   Smile
