I am currently looking at buying a 1994 Turbo diesel Aussie Rocky/Fourtrack in a private sale. I had the vehicle inspected and the only concerning item that came to light was a coolant leak seeming to be coming from the rear of the block/head. Has anyone had a similar problem with theirs, the vehicle seems in pretty good nic apart from that.

Briefly, the rigid body of exhaust manifold, turbo and turbo support prevent the head bolts pulling down the head gasket when the head bolts are torqued up (as the should be every 10000 miles).
OK, what happens is that the gasket is fine at the front of the engine, but at the back, the gasket isn't necessarily tightened up quite so much, hence the leak.
