modify an 06 sirion

hi, i would like to modify a bit my sirion and was thinking about the e.c.u, what bhp i will add if i put this? or someone have a better option? like air filter, muffler,... , ... thanks

When you say " modify my ecu " are you refering to a re-map, a sports chip , different ecu Unknw
At a guess id say a "sports" chip / universal chip is what we are looking at here....
In my opinion they are of little use sadly, they may give you a very small amount of extra hp / torque ( not the 25bhp+ you see frequently quoted on ebay for example) , but usually kill your fuel economy.
Bear in mind a proper ECU tune setup would require a AFM ( getting your air fuel mixture correct and safe ) and / or rolling road tune for your own car, to extract maximum performance. I dont see a universal chip being able to really impress , every individual engine varies slightly especially if you have any mods Unknw

If your going to do it right, get the bits you want modified / upgraded ie exhaust , inlet, cams etc . Then get it mapped on a dyno Smile

Also , what engine and model is it? If its one of the lower powered Sirions ( compared to the rally models for example ) I dont see why you couldnt " nick" the cams out of these, giving you a decent power increase, you might need some other parts to get it running right tho.

my sirion is the 05 model and yes i was thinking of a remap but it's too expensive, then i was thinking of some thing like you said but i have to make it good cause.i was thinking even to buy an engine of the new ones(4x4 133bhp)and then modify that. Mark what do you mean with lower powered sirions?

i have a sirion 1.3 and i have searched for upgrades, i'v heard not much can be done to the exhaust system put i reckon with better flow more response, also try a knn air filter kit which can give you some increase in performance.

First of all i'm going to get rid of the catalyzer, second i'm going to put some better shocks or/and stabilizer cause as for road holding i don't find it steady for corners.Then i'll put the air filter, k&n or something else. Tyres are not bad but i wish the front would be a little bit more wide, just a size wider. About the chip i don't think there's going to be that much of a difference imo but maybe a little turbo? i don't know. That's the plan for now, then we'll see what's next
