Forum:
Hi,
I have recently bought a Fourtrak Independent, and I am looking for a user manual for it, as well as a service manual.
All the service manuals I have seen have been for the older pre-independent models.
Would anyone know where to get either of these?
Thanks,
Phil

independent spec ?
Sorry but I can only see the info for the older pre-independent models, on the site, or am I missing something?
Fuel filter change help,
Could anybody please explain how to change the Fuel filter on my 98 Fourtrak, as a complete novice with no idea, a simplistic run through would be appreciated!
(Still want a Hand book, service book and a copy of original Brochure)…
fuel filter change
hi popoff
1 remove drain plug and drain fuel into suitable container from bottom of filter
2 disconnect warning switch and wiring
3 remove warning switch and gasket using pliers
4 remove fuel filter and o ring using filter wrench
5 discard filter
6 install new filter and o ring apply thin layer of alchol to o ring, screw in fuel filter by hand until you feel resistance ,tighten with filter wrench to 12.7 +/- 2.0 Nm
7 screw warning switch with new gasket into bottom by hand
8 connect the connector of warning switch
9 install drain plug with new gasket
10 operate the hand pump on top of the filter body until resistance is felt so that the filter is full of fuel
11 start engine, check for leaks
this comes from the daihatsu service manual i am unsure if your model is covered as mine is a lot older but should be close as with anything like this take pictures and make diagrams first and take your time i have seen lots of so called experts muck this up and lose o rings etc in the past coz they all "know what they are doing"
good luck

Thanks for that,
Thanks for that, help always appreciated, sounds simple, however I know my luck, I can cock anything up! Think I may just get someone to show me hands on first time, but thanks again.
