Just noticed that the exhaust on my 04 YRV Turbo has split just beyond where the two tail pipes join the main pipe, looks well corroded.
Phoned the dealers who say according to my chassis number it should only be a single tail pipe ??
Questions like - twin pipes? is it bolted on or welded, has someone modified it? can they ever get anything right!
Depending on on how many miles it can be covered by the 3 year warranty, at 19,000 IT BETTER BE!!
Not done bad lately with warranty claims, had a new battery before x-mas.
Average GP brand swapped for a top notch Varta Asia 
It seems cold weather and short trips took a toll on it.
One dealer said its only covered for 2 years but two others said 3 so stand your ground if you encounter the same.
Still waiting for the roll bar brackets to snap.
Anyone else had any claims or part failures lately??

Still have my original brackets. No problem, and I don't hang about!
Apart from new front discs/pads mine has had no failures.
Sorry. I remember having the front screen top rubber changed.
My dealer said 3 years for the exhaust warranty.
Unfortunately it hasn't broken yet but I will be working on that before warranty runs out in august!
Have had the exhaust
Have had the exhaust replaced just before the warranty expired, no hassle from dealer.
Had the inevitable broken rear rollbar mounting (offside) out of warranty.
Phoned Daihatsu's customer careline as I thought it might attract a recall or similar. No problems, the posted out replacements to my usual dealer, who phoned to see when I wanted the job done - free gratis.
I elected to have the parts posted out to me, as I didn't fancy a 260 mile round trip for a 30 minute job - easy job to do with the car up on ramps.;-)
YRV EXHAUST
Was the exhaust std mild steel, heard they were replacing in stainless?
Local dealers claimed they had never heard of rear brackets problem, avoiding a recall!!

YRV Exhaust
Replacement is mild steel and looks like it will last 2-3 years, just like the first one!
My local dealers are great, but they hadn't heard of the rear anti roll bar problem either, I'm beginning to wonder if I know more about the 130 Turbo than they do!:-D
YRV Exhaust - Warranty
Finaly got mine replaced after several weeks.
Was hoping it would be a full system but just a back box.
Dont think its Stainless, its painted satin Black, although the tail ends are S/S.
Also got them to change the rear roll bar brackets before they break and one of the roof gutter strips.
You dont get if you dont ask!!

yrv exhaust
yes actually it was replaced with a stainless steel twin exhaust by my dealer, not the mild steel used by other dealers. If I was yrv130 i'd go back and complain.
yrv turbo exhaust
Hiya,
I had to have my exhaust replaced last year. It snapped whilst I was driving and when I got home my wife rang the Daihatsu dealer that we bought it from to complain as it's only an 04 model and she was fuming! Anyway the guys there admitted that it is a common manufacturing fault and the original manufacturers had gone bust, however they had recently found a new manufacturer. They replaced my exhaust the following day free of charge even though they said that it wasn't covered by the warranty but it did so because it is a common fault.
Blitz Exhaust
Hi, was just wondering if you took out the boltout the front of the exhaust and screwed in the electronic sensor? I put the foot to the floor for 1st time today and at high revs in 2nd car jumpped up and down to 3rd gear, wasn't pretty. Can only think that may be the cause.
help!!!

i have fitted the blitz nur-spec exchaust to my Yrv ,i have not been on rolling road it seems to faster and sound good.it took a while to fit because the blitz is for 4 wheel drive version so they had to ensure it fitted correctly
