Brakes Diagram

Forum:

I have replaced back brake linings and drums, overhauled master cylinder, have had brakes professionally bled but brakes are still spongy and weak. Does anyone have details that they can email me on the brake system?

I'm sorry but I cannot accept that Daihatsu or any manufacturer would produce a vehicle with shonky brakes.

I have two Fourtraks -1985 - shops on a pinhead, 1992 takes forever and if carrying a loaded trailer requires the length of a runway to pull up.

So what is the difference in the two models?

I believe it is the distribution valve. The 1985 model has a simple valve mounted mounted on the chassis under the drivers seat. The 1992 model has a very complicated valve located on the fire wall and I believe this is the problem where fluid under pressure seeps back into the resevoir.

It is my first priority when time permits to overhaul this unit.

I will post my results when available
