Forum:
hi all, i just had our Rocky serviced and i dont think they greased the dammed thing anywhere !!!!.
I wonder is there an official info sheet of where the greasing points are, i know for sure there is THREE on the rear prop shaft alone !, but how mamy more are there ?.
OK, here's all the grease points.
Rear prop shaft.
front and rear universal joints plus central spline.
Front prop shaft.
3 grease nipples, as rear.
Front suspension both lh and rh
Upper wishbone
Lower balljoint
Steering.
2 balljoints on steering box end of steering relay bar
1 balljoint on idler end of steering relay bar
2 trackrod ends (just behind front wheel hubs)
..... the steering relay bar is that whacking great bar that connects the left and right front wheels to make them steer together !
It might be found easier to remove the prop shaft entirely to get access to the grease nipples more easily. Also the central spline grease nipple doesn't do a very good job of getting clean grease all around the spline. It might be easier to slide the spline apart and grease it properly but mark the shaft before you part the spline to get it to re-engage in the same slot as it came apart
thanks for that friend,
thanks for that friend, sorry it took so long to respond, there are far more grease points than i ever imagined, thanks a lot for spelling them out to me, very helpfull :).
