HI, i own a 91 Applause, and cant get my head around this one problem. Water/coolant is always boiling over in my reserve tank, and the temp skyrockets. I have a brand new radiator, thermostat and a couple of new hoses. Im at a dead end now and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! cheers.
Possibly head gasket failed.
Sounds like a head gasket has failed. Can you smell exhaust or sight floating oil in the coolant reservoir?

Have you checked the top and bottom hose on the rad? if one is hot and the other is cold you might have an air lock... or thermostat could be faulty.
And more .....
Did you fit the correct thermostat type with correct temperature stamped on the thermostat. Did you set the thermostat's jiggle uppermost in the thermostat housing?
