i also am looking at these
i also am looking at these however i am considering the pressure they will put on our hubs and wheel bearings.
i woud just invest twice the amount in some good wheels and tyres.

These used to be very popular on Minis and the like. They require longer studs to fit safely, which you day are included. As Paul says, they place a lot of additional strain on the wheel bearings and I know that Mini's with these often had early wheel bearing failure.
The principal of extending the track width will give better road holding and will look good providing it is not overdone. Remember the Carlos Fandango Advert on TV using an Anglia? You will also have to bear in mind the extent of tyre hanging beyond the wheel arch as the law is quite strict on this.

'Carlos Fandango' Hamlet ad!! What a classic, I remember him taking out the farm gate posts with his super wide wheels!
Erm yes, wheel spacers... go and buy some replacement wheel bearings to have standing by, If you must buy them for god's sake keep those bolts torqed up. I witnessed a Disco throwing a wheel when his spacer worked loose and sheared it's bolts, wasn't pretty - and neither was the wall he hit.
