Raising and Spacers

Forum:

Can anyone tell me are there any reasons i shouldn't raise my Sportrak? Whats a body raise? and Are spacers any harm?? Thanx.

raisers and spacers

Wheel spacers will place additional strain on the wheel bearings and you will need to increase the length of the studs to accomodate the additional plates ysed behind each wheel to widen the track. They will give a wider track so will increase roadholding but be aware of the bearing strain plus the MOT regulations relating to the wheels protrusion beyond the bodywork.

You can raise a Sportrack at the rear using Rear Spring hangers longer than those normally fitted and spring assisted h/d shocks. I am not sure how you would raise the front other than buy adding H/D Spring assisted shocks. Perhaps some one who has done it on this forum will be able to tell you more. Bear in mind that the centreof gravity is highalready and by increasing this the chance of rolling will increase. No doubt someone will either support or shoot me down for saying that.
