If you look out for Lada Nive rims on e-bey etc, some of these where 16", and will fit straight on. Also some of the F50's and F20's had 16" rims, but they were very narow, and are now quite rare.
Some of the 4x4 mag based wheel and tyre shops also used to do 16" 8 spokes and modulers to fit Daihatsu's. Don't know if they still do. Alternativly get hold of a French 4x4 mag, as the 16" rim is more common there.
