Hi all.
Has anybody changed there windows to electric or know someone who has?
I've had my winder mechanism out to replace it for a working one and it looks similar (from Ebay pictures!) to other electric mechanisms for small Daihatsu. Anyone know any better?

YES!!!!!!
from working on these a lot, and as my mate has the piagio version,
i told him to put them in you can buy kits of ebay,
what i did on his van was put wireless central locking,
electric open and shut windows,
the kit cost roughly £69.99,
comes with 4 windows motors(you only need 2 so have 2 for spares),
wiring kit, locking motor plus cabls,key remote and alarm......
also you can get a start button put on, can retune the engine and rewire the efi to a button on the dash everytime you need power push the button,
too be honest there are so many mods you can do to a hijet,
then multi spoke mini alloys,
also one mod i havent tried which is putting power steering onto it,
i know it can be done, i have space under the seat from where i put the k&n filter to put the tank, rack will fit fine check that out already,
thinking of getting the rack,pulley, and bottle in future or if i see some one breaking a charade........

I`ve seen the universal kits although after noticing a daihatsu electric motor for some small car on ebay lookig remarkably similar I thought there might be one that would fit straight on. I`d be happy with just the drivers window!
I`m slightly dubious by the quality of the universal kits? However it may be my only option.
Did you put the central locking only on the front doors?
What size mini wheels (inc. offset) have you fitted?
What air filter?
I`m sorry to hear you haven`t got any manuals left. I was hoping you`d pdf`d them!
I`ve also got the dual fuel Hijet, although I still haven`t got it on the road yet! Hopefully I`ll get rid of my Astra and get the Hijet going!

am getting rid of my subaru samber, got a guy coming on friday for it..........
really need to make some space plus winters on the way cant look after too many vans, well 4 but after friday will have 2 hijets and a supercarry....
i fitted the universal motors and central locking only in the front, the set does come in 4's so cant put the central locking in the back if u like.........
i'll send a link later on of where you can get decent alloys from,
at the moment i have 2 k&n filters bought from halfords and a max power which i got from argos i was on sale only cost 8quid, if ur worried about getting it wrong with messuremtns just get a universal k&n filter or take some messuremens and then buy one,
it will make a difference specialy with the engine sound........
plus the cooler the engine the faster............
i hardly have much time at the moment main reason havent made any copies of the manual, it took me ages last time to scan every copie........
