M6Toll Charges - HiJet

Forum:

I have used the M6Toll Road for the first time in my Hijet and I got charged what they call the van rate (Night time £7 instead of £3 for cars) My hijet is an MPV so I protested some it has glass and seats - its a car - "It doesn't work like that" it depends on the hight of the vehicle directly above the front axle - not on if its a commercial a van or whatever. see http://www.m6toll.co.uk/pricing/vehicleclass.asp

Toll Charges - Like the tax.

Hey M4X,

This is just like the road tax thing we were talkin'
about awhile back. We just have to accept these
extra 'inconveniences' because we drive a much more
superior and exclusive vehicle than everyone else.

In fact, I think our superior status is worth the extra money. We all know that the Hi-Jet is better than any other car out there, even better than the other Daiatsu models on here! (here come the shots!)

Hi-Jet better?

Yeah better for carrying fridges, cookers, tip rubbish and even Daihatsu spares etc etc......
Dont forget the H in Daihatsu Wink

I agree the Dartford Tunnel is the same and you already pay road tax. I'm afraid it is easy pickings in the UK whatever you drive but I must admit tiny Micorvans should be charged as a car. Some of the cars, well most sallons occupy more space than the Hijet which I agree is a super little Van/MPV. My Nephew tells me that Southend on Sea are installing cameras for conjestion charging. This will kill the shops in Southend as Lakeside is only up the road and it will be cheaper to drive there than into Southend. Logic?? It amazes me that they can moan about local shops closing and then do this and wonder why. "Lets not improve transport but price motorists off the road" seems to be the plan, or am I just being silly and a reactionary?

I live gratefully in France where Parking in mainly free, roads are clear and you can either use the payage roads or an alternative which is almost as good, and of course NO ROAD TAX.

Tolls

No mate i think your right. all these councils whine like little piggies about the destroying of their town centre shops, and then charge us for parking and then a conjestion charge as well, well bring on the likes of bluewater, lakeside and the rest and as for conjestion charge ban tractors as we only have 2 through roads and neither of them are dualcarriage ways

TAX

Dont forget we in the UK have so much tax, we could carpet the world.
