Thermo Valve Wiring...

Hi.

Just been fiddling with our rad fan.

There is a feed from the loom with a plug/socket on it (live only with ign. ON.)(Ours has 2 wires), These are positive feed and negative return. (Get a battery voltage reading from a voltmeter across the two.)

Then there is a small loom consisting of 3 plug/sockets and 3 wires.(Basically triangular!)

The feed from the main loom is plugged into a plug that is fitted to the radiator shroud in the right hand side (looking forward from underneath!)a pair of wires come out from this connector, one goes to the thermo switch, the other is the return from the fan motor (another plug/socket connector.)

The connector on the themo switch has two wires, the feed from the above connector, and the feed to the fan motor connector.

The connector on the fan motor has two wires. The feed from the thermo switch and the return to the main loom connector.

The fan should be isolated from the body as it is mounted on the plastic shroud.

So, 12V goes from the loom, through the connector on the rad shroud, to the thermo switch, if this is ON, the 12V goes through the switch to the fan motor, and then back to the loom.

If the fan motor is continuing to run...you must have a feed and return somewhere! Smile

Hope the above is clear enough to help!
