was in my woods cutting wood with my fourtrak (not literally i was using a chainsaw) when it came time to drive out, long story short i got very very stuck as i only have 2wd. i got my friend to swing by with his unimog and drag me out but now i have alot of clunking coming from underneath, feels like the front wheels are not properly bolted on,
and ideas, my font transfer exploded a couple of weeks ago, i wonder if i can just strip out some parts to leave it as a 2wd for the time being

Loss of front drive axle
Do not engage 4WD. Lots of posts on site re-testing for drive to front axle,just search,sure you will find something which will give indication to what is the problem

If the problem is the transfer box instead of stripping it you may as well just another secondhand one and bolt it straight on so then you will have 4x4 again, the fourtracks are pretty poo in 2wd unless you have VERY grippy tyres, you have all that power on the rear axle but no weight and its having to effectivly push the heavy engine/front wheels and vehicle weight all at once and its easier to pull something then to push. plenty of second hand ones around look at ebay , breakers and farms.
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!
