Hi,
Any one know of how to get hold of any dumper tyres for a Fourtrak, and what sizes are best?
Plus we've seen some people just put these tyres on the rear of their trucks with normal mud terrains on the front, is this an advantage, or just purely down to not having 4 dumper tyres?
Cheers all.......
Tyred Out
Depends upon the application, if they are used on a road going vehicle they will be illegal? if they are used purely for off road vehicles, they are ok.
Alternatively, use a spare set of wheels with the tyres on, and change them when you are off road; with the variety of off road tyres available, you will find dumper tyres expensive when compared to commercially available off road tyres. Many modern dumper tyres are designed to be fitted on split rims, and not on vehicle road wheels, they will not sit correctly, nor will they lock onto the rim, this causes them to spin on the rim when the vehicle gets into hard terrain.
My suggestion is to get a good set of off road tyres and fit them onto spare steel rims, these are legal for road use, and the vehicle may be driven (with care) legally, to your off road destination.
macho macho man
Hello there, i think youll find that your better off getting the greenway macho tyre as they are a directional tyre with same grip idea as an agricultural tyre, i havnt always been that impressed by watching agri tread tyres on off road vehicles because they need weight on them to push the big pleats into the ground, like i say look at the greenway macho as a tread idea www.tyresdirect.co.uk
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!
