Ok folks, been a while since ive been on here, but its justified.

Heres an abridged tale of events.

I was driving my '91 Rocky when i stopped at a roundabout junction, then before i knew it, i was hit from behind on the left rear side by a Pajero!!

As a result, I was damaged, and my Rocky was damaged, but hopefully, only cosmetically. Rear left step dented, tow bar almost snapped in half.

But where its been sitting over the past few months, i think it may have grown some wear and tear.

Took it for MOT and this is what the certificate says:

START

001 Offside front (blade deteriorated) windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively [8.2.2]

002 Nearside front (wheel almost off) front wheel bearing has excessive play 12.5.A.3cl (DANGEROUS)

003 Nearside front brake disc cracked [3.5.1hl] (DANGEROUS)

004 Offside Nearside front brake disc cracked [3.5.1hl] (DANGEROUS)

005 Centre rear exhaust system has a major leak of exhaust gases [7.1.2a]

006 (cannot test as front wheel falling off) brake performance not tested [X9999]

007 Service brake efficiency below requirements [3.7.B.1a]

008 Parking brake efficiency below requirements [3.7.B.1b]

ADVISORY NOTICE

009 Offside rear (inner wing) body has slight corrosion [6.1.3]

010 Front nearside and offside shock absorber rubbers worn - same with nearside and off side rear. Towing bar securing area corroded.

So as you can see, there is a bit of work that needs doing. However, it still runs fine (dont worry, havent been driving it except up and down the street, oh and to and back from the mot place!)

Anyway, i have been given a quote on getting the wrong righted. but i was just wondering what you guys think i should do?

Keep it or admit defeat? How much would you be willing to pay to get it through

Trouble is, im really fond of my Tonka and i really DONT want to get rid. Even if i did, im not in a situation at the moment to replace it.

I took to a local 4x4 specialist near me on a Friday and was told he'll get back to me on the Monday with some info and quotes....... 4 weeks later, i went to pick it up after keeping being told he'll look at it ... he never did!!

But im off to another place with the certificate for a quote so am just curious on what you think the price should be.
