abs probs
Hello,
and plug it into daihatsu's diagnostic computer and it will give readings and trouble codes, but look for any damage first, have you had any work done on the car recently,if so have a mooch around that area as something may have been disturbed.....
it could be a few things, a ecu problem, but that will be unlikely. it could be a wheel sensor failing/damaged or harness damaged/water ingress/wire stretched.
inspect your wiring looms by your wheels see if they are not located properly so could be damaged/rubbing/trapped on wheels,brackets or hoses, check your fuses too.
to actually find out what the exact fault is you will need to visit a dealer

abs problems

Thanks for the advice, car is booked in to check the fault codes, have only just brought the car, has only 19k on the clock 53 plate red, not to keen on the graphics on the side, but was totally shocked by how fast the car is, a lot quicker than my 150 bhp bora sport tdi. i have noticed that on the last MOT that there is a comment about the front brake discs being slighty pitted, so i am expecting them to say that the front discs are knackered hence why the ABS light is on.
we shall see ???

On my last MOT (Feb last year) my discs were pitted, then when had serviced (always have dealer service as cheaper than local non dealers!) a couple of months ago they mentioned it and the pads worn, so had to pads and just had the Discs refaced rather than new Discs. So you might be able to get away with just a reface than replacements.

oh yes, the turbo is a rather rapid little box }:-) , mine was standard but it still moved (very) quickly! Worn discs shouldn't put the abs light on, as the sensor is not attached to the discit is attached to the hub and the sensor ring is on the c.v joint.

Apart from the abs fault, the car seems faultless, 1 other question i have is do these engines have a timing belt or chain.
How come you sold your YRV did you have any problems with it

Hello,
It has a timing chain so regular oil changes to keep chain, tensioner and slippers healthy,
but a house purchase forced the sale as my fiancee' had a Charade which was better on fuel, cheaper to insure and cheaper to tax, but we stayed with the marque we now have a sirion and my mum and dad now have the Charade, Daihatsu Dave now owns the turbo and i know he has had a few issues with it, nothing serious though. send him a message if you can......
I had a problem with the fuel gauge reading wrong, but i would have kept the car as it was a great little car
