Full Service.

Sound about the rate for 4x4 machines .... plus cost of any brake pads etc

I recommend Nationwide

I recommend Nationwide Autocentres if you have one nearby. My previous day car (03 Vectra 2.0DTi)would come in at about £80 as opposed to a Vx dealer price of around £200 all in, inc the fully synth oil and any genuine parts. They also run all sorts of introductory offers if you Google them.

Just got an 07 CDTi SRi 150 Wink and it'll be going there when the time comes...

service

Depends what they include in the service. Is it a Daihatsu dealer at that price.

For a standard service I would view that as high but then I live in France where the Audi main dealer hourly rate is 55€ so a full service on my A6 is just below the 280€ mark all in with VAT.

I agree for the time it takes and the effort the costs are high but if you can't do it what choice do you have but to pay.

I do all my own servicing on the 2 Sportraks and a slow plod without the brakes is less than an hour, most time is spent getting the shields off. With the brakes maybe 2 hours tops, change of brake fluid 20 minutes tops using an easy bleed and a slow afternoon for the cam belt and other drive belts, longest job is getting the Rad out in one piece. But as I say if you haven't the know how or the tools then the garages in the UK charge the earth.

I recall, just for a laugh, a service being done at Halfords. I just happened to arrive as they were replacing the brake fluid. Incredibly they sucked the master cylinder dry and then replenished it, end of story. To the owner it looked like the job had been done with new fluid in the Master Cylinder. In reality well need I say more? Moral is don't use Halfords and prerhaps take care of so called service centers. At least if you do it yourself you are assured that the work has been done completely and correctly (I hope).;) Wink
